Made for a smaller space
The pergola sits in the corner of the garden, tucked against a red brick wall, with its dark grey frame running over a strip of paving and artificial grass. At 2.4 × 3m it covers just over 7m², which is compact enough to work over a smaller patio without taking over the whole garden.
There's still plenty of room underneath. In the video, a round bistro table and two chairs sit comfortably under the roof, with space left over. It's a spot to relax, eat or have friends round, rather than a garden you only walk through.
Sun or shelter, your choice
The louvred roof does the hard work. Open the louvres when the sun's shining and you get light and warmth coming through. Close them when the British weather inevitably changes its mind, and you're covered. Turning the blades only takes a moment, so you can keep sitting out as the day changes.
