Founders

Dan & Dean Spencer

Brothers Dan and Dean began by transforming gardens from the ground up. They built patios, shaped outdoor spaces and worked directly with the families who would enjoy them.

That hands-on experience shaped Spencer’s Outdoor Living: thoughtful structures, professional installation and a personal service that stays connected from the first enquiry to final handover.

“We create the space.
You create the memories.”

Founder

Dan Spencer

Dan is a founder of Spencer & Co and is known for putting everything into the business, often working around the clock to keep the company moving forward.

Outside work, Dan is a dedicated Jiu-Jitsu practitioner working towards his black belt whenever time allows. He also enjoys the occasional weekend on the jet skis with his brother Dean, usually with plenty of coffee in between.

“Always moving forward.
On the mat, on the water and in business.”

Company director

Dean Spencer

Dean is a company director alongside his brother Dan and has been involved in landscaping all his life. Growing up with his dad, a builder, Dean would often go to work with him, which sparked his passion for working outdoors.

Although he still prefers being on the tools, the growth and development of the business now means Dean spends more time in the office, helping shape the future of Spencer’s Outdoor Living. Outside work, he enjoys jet skiing and supporting his son at mountain biking.

“Built from experience.
Driven by the next project.”

Family heritage

Darren Spencer

Darren is the father of Dan and Dean and a highly experienced builder who spent his life on the tools. He taught his sons everything they know about landscaping, passing on the practical knowledge, standards and work ethic that continue through Spencer & Co today.

From the age of five, Dan and Dean were around Darren, learning how to become great landscapers. Darren is a proper old-school builder, and his view is simple: if he does not know how to do something in landscaping, it probably does not need doing.

Outside work, Darren enjoys an evening at the pub with friends. He remains a much-loved part of the family story behind Spencer & Co.

“If Darren doesn’t know how to do it,
it doesn’t need to be done.”

Pergola installation team

Karl

Karl is a long-serving member of the Spencer & Co team and an experienced landscaper. He was the very first member of the pergola installation team, helping establish the practical knowledge and standards behind every installation.

If there is anything to know about pergolas, Karl is the man to ask. Away from work, he is a motorsport fan and a loving, caring father and husband. He is, above all, a genuinely great guy to have on the team.

“The man to ask about pergolas.
Experience, knowledge and a great attitude.”

Pergola installation team

Dunc

Dunc is part of the Spencer’s pergola installation team and an experienced tradesman, with a background in bathroom fitting and landscaping throughout his working career.

He is another keen Jiu-Jitsu practitioner working towards becoming a black belt. Away from work, Dunc is a loving father and husband.

“Experience on the tools.
Strength, discipline and family.”

Pergola installation team

Mickey

Mickey is part of the Spencer’s pergola installation team and has worked with Dean for many years. Their friendship and experience together bring a trusted, hands-on approach to every installation.

An experienced window fitter, Mickey brings valuable practical skills to the team. Away from work he enjoys fishing and golf, with fishing becoming a hobby he absolutely loves. He now has his own YouTube channel, Broomsworld. Follow and subscribe to see what Mickey gets up to at the weekend.

“Practical experience.
Passion beyond the working week.”

Installation team

James

James is the newest member of the Spencer’s team. He brings experience across a wide range of trade skills developed throughout his working career, supporting the team with a practical, can-do approach.

Outside work, James enjoys gaming and socialising with friends.

“A practical approach
from start to finish.”

Installation team

Scott

Scott brings a broad range of landscaping skills to the Spencer’s team. He has recently moved across to the pergola side of the business and is enjoying travelling around the country, visiting different places as part of his work.

Outside work, Scott enjoys being a dad and spending time on camping and fishing holidays.

“Bringing landscaping experience
to outdoor living.”
